Vancouver’s Downtown Association Set to Hire New Executive Director
The Vancouver’s Downtown Association (VDA) is hiring an Executive Director. This is a full-time, high profile position within the community and requires creativity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
The VDA Executive Director is responsible for the development, coordination, administration, documentation, and implementation of the Main Street program and thus should have at least three years leadership experience in business, event production, project management and/or marketing in a downtown organization or highly visible non-profit organization.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of proven skills and experience in membership, sponsorship recruitment/retention, operations and project management; be adept in maintaining positive relationships and collaborations with businesses, downtown stakeholders, city departments, contractors, community partners, and other constituents; have a track record of producing successful promotions and events designed to generate revenue, foot traffic and act as an economic driver for the downtown area; experience working with a board of directors; and the administration and oversight of personnel and business management. Successful candidates will also have organizational management experience, strong writing skills, excellent public speaking skills, and strong organizational, interpersonal, and media relation skills. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
