Make a Mosaic Crochet Beanie

February 24, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Mosaic crochet is a fun way to create colorful projects with two yarn colors. The technique produces a cool geometric effect. The best thing about mosaic crochet is that it is fundamentally made with stripes of colors, meaning you can create patterns without changing colors mid-way through a row because of how the colorwork is placed.

Learning Objectives:

In this class you will learn how to create amazing colorwork without having to alternate colors multiple times in a row. We will be using single crochet for the brim, double crochets and chains for the mosaic designs.

Homework: Please download the pattern ahead of time and complete the brim and the first two rounds in the “part two” section before class. This will allow us to be ready for the mosaic portion of the hat when you arrive to class. (You can adjust the brim size based on your preference. It calls for 16 stitches, but I used 10. Changing the brim size will not interfere with the colorwork as long as the width is worked in multiples of 6. )
