Art on the Boulevard

Art on the Boulevard

In honor of tomorrow’s First Friday Art Walk, we are featuring Art on the Boulevard! A project of Friends of the Arts, Art on the Boulevard is a non-profit art gallery whose mission is to establish a community environment in which the arts flourish. The work of over 50 Northwest artists allows the gallery to display a wide variety of media and styles.

Kevin Weaver, gallery director, runs the gallery with the help of volunteers. Kevin has a deep love for Vancouver and is passionate about Art on the Boulevard’s community-centric focus. Artists have donated roughly $100,000 worth of art to local fundraisers to benefit local causes. Kevin enjoys developing deep relationships with local artists and customers – many of which he calls personal friends.

Kevin also gives back in the form of public service – he is currently serving on the City of Vancouver’s Arts, Culture, and Heritage Commission. This commission facilitates the development and promotion of a “thriving arts and heritage environment through programs, ownership of physical assets including buildings and public art and through community partnerships” (City of Vancouver).

For First Friday, Art on the Boulevard will be featuring new works by various gallery artists on display for the month of January. Art on the Boulevard is located at 210 W. Evergreen Blvd in downtown Vancouver. View all First Friday listings by visiting:  https://www.facebook.com/vdausa360
