In honor of small business month, we are celebrating our local speakeasy ​@underbarvancouver​! Nestled in the basement of the Broadway Building at 1701 1⁄2 Broadway, UnderBar offers an intimate space paired with 14 Moscow Mule variations, classic old fashioned’s, and delicious but reasonably priced food. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

Owners Kurt & Kendra are celebrating UnderBar’s 2-year anniversary in the month of June. The idea for UnderBar was conceived when Kurt went to mail something one day and noticed an ad on the wall for storage space. Kurt took the number, emailed the owners, and went to work. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

The pandemic has impacted their business in a variety of ways, with revenue down 85-90%—UnderBar is working hard to adapt & pivot to meet the demands of our new normal. Kurt & Kendra hope to continue hosting UnderBar as a gathering space with unique events, like adult bingo, and live shows. To stay positive during this time, Kurt & Kendra have been spending time outside, enjoying the beautiful hanging baskets that now line our downtown corridors, and staying busy with their essential day jobs. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
