Volunteer Opportunity: Spruce the Couve 2026

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, Spruce the Couve brings the community together for a morning of hands-on volunteering in Vancouver, Washington! Volunteers will plant flowers in Esther Short Park and help pick up litter and clear yard debris throughout the downtown and uptown corridor. It is a great way to spend a few hours outdoors while helping keep shared spaces clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

No experience is needed to join. Gloves, tools, and materials will all be provided, along with water and light refreshments. A short orientation at the start will walk everyone through what to do, so you can jump in with confidence.

This event is open to all ages and group sizes. Whether you come with a whole team of coworkers, friends, family, or on your own, there is a place for you. During registration, you can choose the project that fits you best, including Downtown Cleanup, Uptown Cleanup, or Flower Planting.

In 2025, 176 volunteers contributed more than 446 hours of service. Together, we planted over 1,300 flowers in Esther Short Park and removed more than 2,000 gallons of debris, equal to over 12 cubic yards, throughout the downtown corridor.

Thank you to our partners, Vancouver’s Downtown Association, City of Vancouver, Hilton Vancouver, Parks Foundation of Clark County, and Kindred, as well as our sponsors Simply Sweets, Frontier Landscaping, and Waste Connections. Together, we are helping keep our community clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for residents and visitors.

Let’s get outside, meet people, and make a visible difference in your community!
