Renaissance Pointe, a newly completed public space along the Columbia River. Once an unfinished stretch of waterfront, this area has been transformed into a vibrant destination designed for the community to pause, reflect, and connect.

From an Unfinished Trail to a Community Vision

Renaissance Pointe was inspired by a simple but powerful question: “Why does the trail just end like this?” This idea originated with Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Jeremy R. Brown (EOW: 7/23/21), who frequently walked this section of the river and considered it one of his favorite places along the waterfront.

That question, voiced during one of those walks, became the catalyst for a community-driven effort to reimagine the space—transforming it into something more intentional, accessible, and welcoming for all.

During the ceremony, Jill Brown, wife of the late Sgt. Brown, recounted the story behind the project and how a personal moment of reflection evolved into a collective effort to complete the riverfront connection.

A Space Built Through Collaboration

Today, Renaissance Pointe stands as a completed riverfront destination, thoughtfully designed for pause, reflection, and connection. Dedicated to CCSO Sgt. Jeremy R. Brown, it represents the result of broad collaboration among public, private, and nonprofit partners who helped bring the vision to life.

Project partners include:

City of Vancouver, Parks Foundation of Clark County, Robertson & Olson Construction, Otak, Columbia Business Center, Alchemy Partners, Clark County Deputy Sheriffs Guild, Jodie Sharp (Windermere Real Estate), The Al Angelo Company, The Lee & Dunn Group: Baird, Lynch Foundation.

A Lasting Riverfront Legacy

Renaissance Pointe now joins Vancouver’s evolving riverfront, offering a space designed with care and intention. Ongoing stewardship by the City of Vancouver and the Parks Foundation of Clark County will help ensure the space remains vibrant and well-maintained for years to come.
