Social Media Bootcamp for Downtown Small Businesses
On Monday, January 26, the Vancouver’s Downtown Association partnered with Riparian Media with support from The City of Vancouver to host a DIY Social Media Bootcamp for Downtown Small Business owners and representatives.
This hands-on workshop was created for downtown business owners who are navigating unpredictable conditions—construction, weather, last-minute changes—while still needing to show up consistently and clearly online. Participants worked through a guided workbook and focused on building a social media system that feels intentional, flexible, and realistic for their business.
The bootcamp was led by Kayla, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Riparian Media, who shared practical tools and strategies to help businesses communicate confidently with their customers, even when plans change.
This program was made possible through partnership and funding support from Vancouver’s Downtown Association and The City of Vancouver, allowing the workshop to be offered at a significantly reduced cost to participants.
We’re grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the morning such a positive and productive experience.
Due to the strong interest in this program, we are currently in conversations about offering the DIY Social Media Bootcamp again. Those who would like to be notified can join the interest list here.
