Spruce the Couve: Litter Receptacle Expansion

Spruce the Couve: Litter Receptacle Expansion

We have replaced every single litter receptacle along Main Street, from 6th-15th! In addition to a few new locations in Uptown.

This effort is in response to feedback received by business owners and the public. Our new standard features graphics referencing Vancouver’s sense of place, Esther Short Park and Grant Street Pier, local fish species & canoe, along with a design specific to Uptown featuring native plants with the slogan “Keep Uptown Beautiful.”

This effort is a part of our “clean & safe” initiative, Spruce the Couve, which focuses on lighting improvements, graffiti removal, power washing, and community cleanups. Thank you, City of Vancouver Department of Public Works, for their partnership on the installation!

VDA is a 501 c(3) non-profit Washington Main Street organization—our mission is simple, we keep downtown vibrant. Our dedicated volunteers help to support our community through a variety of holistic initiatives to meet the explicit needs of our downtown district.
